Mycelium Running: How Mushrooms Can Help Save the World
Little did I know that many years later, while sitting in a yurt classroom, I would learn how truly amazing these fungi are and how they have been ‘cleaning up’ nature since the beginning of time, along with a lot of our man-made messes too.

My first memories of mushrooms are foraging with my maternal grandmother for puffball (Calvatia gigantean) mushrooms which she would slice and fry in butter for a yummy lunch treat. The other was finding toadstools on the edge of our property that I could place my pet toad under for some mid-day shade or shelter from a sudden cloud burst we had been caught in.
